The Patio is Open!!!!

"The Patio" by Blend 111 opened last Friday night and it was great to see guests again! 

We also learned that with the additional distance to the kitchen/bar, changing gloves, extra hand-washing after contacting items others have touched and sanitizing the bathroom after each individual - service takes a bit longer. But it is easy to enjoy yourself on "The Patio."

Reservations are not required, but highly recommended. We had a number of walk-in requests for dinner and a reservation wait-list. We have created a space with a lot of distancing for guests and will not add density. If a preferred time is not available online, we unfortunately do not have a table available. Our sails protect some tables from light rain (but not moderate/heavy rain).

Carryout continues but we may sellout of items faster so please order early. 

All summer, we are working with our seafood partner to get some incredible, sustainable fish for our ceviche. This week we will use Red Snapper. We are getting a few whole fish and will make a batch for the weekend. But, when it is gone for the weekend, it is gone. Avocado, mango, cilantro - if you love ceviche, this is a "must try".  

Friday night we launched a huge hand-crafted cocktail menu. Every cocktail only uses fresh pressed juices, made to order, top quality spirits and the freshest ingredients. These take a little time to make and they are amazing. #creativecocktails@Blend111

We sourced some hyper-fresh white asparagus this week. We will have it with some main plates and ala carte as a side (until it's gone).

Following the COVID-19 shutdown, this restart is just the beginning of a long road back for restaurants and other small businesses in Vienna. During this shutdown period, we were really touched by a number of  people. There are just too many examples to list, but we wanted to share just a few that directly impacted us. 

An hour before we opened Friday  DePaul's Urban Farm showed up with a truckload of trees, shrubs and plants that made "The Patio" look absolutely stunning. DePaul's has a business to run too and while they were busy, still took time to help us when we really needed it. 

Wedderburn Homes had a team of folks working for two weeks, non-stop, to transform this patio into a new, amazing space. From beautiful cedar accents, a new floor and hanging all of our lights and sail shades, they were committed to help us create a space that would allow us to not only be open again, but a launch a new environment for our Vienna community.  

Lastly, our guests and friends have supported us by ordering carryout, and delivery, creating sign-boards, buying cases of wine, bags of coffee, helping us with plantings, posting social media reviews and sending private messages of support. We are looking forward to seeing all of you in-person again soon!
